Travis Software is Expanding its Team

With the enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA, of 2009, Travis Software is finding itself in a unique position in today's economy: we're growing and adding new team members to our staff in the process.

Through July, 2009 Travis has grown by approximately 20% vs. the same period in 2008. This is approximately double the 10% growth that has been typical for us during the previous 5 consecutive years.

To handle this growth, we have expanded the Product Development and Technical Support staffs to include senior-level employees that will both continue to evolve our products, as well as add new ones, and provide superior-level Technical Support.


Travis Support Hold Times and Call Volume

Over the past few months, The Travis Support team saw a dramatic influx of calls. For example, after ARRA was passed, our Support call in center experienced record call volumes with questions regarding ARRA and helping to upgrade 6+ year old TravisCobra installations. To handle this influx, we put several new internal processes into place, and those processes have resulted in a 60% decrease in call volume over the past 8 weeks.

For the three previous weeks, our average hold times are reflective of our high standards:


June 29 2 minutes 55 seconds
July 6 3 minutes 38 seconds
July 13 3 minutes 20 seconds

Travis Support Case Wrap-Up

A Case Wrap Up is information that is sent to the Client after a support representative concludes a case that required investigation or research from Travis Support. The Case Wrap Up will include the following information:

  • A summary of the issue that was originally reported.
  • The steps that were taken to duplicate the issue.
  • How the issue was resolved.
  • Remaining steps for the customer.

By implementing this new procedure, Travis can ensure the customer who reported the issue is up to date on all the latest information in regards to case activity.


States Passing Laws to Take Advantage of ARRA

We are witnessing a definitive trend in the state continuation arena. States are amending their Mini-COBRA under 20 group health continuation coverage laws to allow employees in their state to take advantage of the full 9 month ARRA subsidy.

States that have already passed laws include Texas, Pennsylvania, and Utah. We are evaluating recent changes to Illinois and Minnesota Mini-COBRA laws now, and watching laws in the NY legislature.

WebCOBRA Updates

The beginning of 2009 brought mostly ARRA-related features to the WebCOBRA.com system, and while we are continuing to ensure processing ARRA with WebCOBA.com is as efficient as possible, some new non ARRA-related features have also recently been added to the system.

  • Print Coupons from the QB Add Wizard (Link)
  • Added Premium Disbursement Options (Link)
  • Pennsylvania and Utah State Continuation Updates (Link)

TravisCobra Updates

TravisCobra Version 8.4 was released in June and is continually being updated with new features. Some of the latest features that were added include:

  • Added ARRA Fields to the PQB Download Module that includes ARRA Verification, an ARRA Opt Out Date, and ARRA Denial.
  • Letter Find and Replace Utility that will allow the user to find and replace specified text in either some or all of your letters.
  • Pennsylvania State Continuation Updates, which allowed Termination to be selected as a Qualifying Event and gave the QB up to 9 months of COBRA Continuation Coverage. Read more...
  • Utah State Continuation Updates, which added additional Qualifying Event to choose from and extended the State Continuation coverage to 12 months, instead of the previous 6. Read more...

RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds When you subscribe to a feed, it is added to the Common Feed List. Updated information from the feed is automatically downloaded to your computer and can be viewed in Internet Explorer and other programs.
