Travis is Increasing our Processing Capabilities!
Travis Software has recently installed a new data center that will make our systems more powerful than ever. We now have two identical data centers in different, managed, hosting facilities for processing WebCOBRA.com. This means that:
- You will have a near-instant failover capability in the event of a major power outage, severe weather, or a mishap by a data center employee.
- Your data will be constantly synched between two locations and backed up every 15 minutes at both locations.
- We have increased our processing capability by 15-20 times our current capacity.
TravisCobra Version 8.1

One-Cent Decrease in 2008 Mileage Rate
In November 2007, the IRS announced that the standard mileage rate for use of an automobile to obtain medical care will be 19 cents per mile for 2008, a one-cent decrease from 2007. The same decreased rate will also apply for use of an automobile as part of a move for which the expenses are deductible under Code Section 217, which allows you to claim transportation costs for medical care if it's over a certain distance.
For more information on this decrease, please visit http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/rp-07-70.pdf.
Updated Model HSA Trust and Custodial Account Forms
Both the IRS and Treasury Departments have released updated versions of the Health Savings Trust Account and Health Savings Custodial Account forms. These forms can be used by trustees and custodians in order to establish HSAs. The forms are customizable in order to include additional provisions such as: definitions, restrictions on rollover contributions, investment powers, voting rights, trustee’s or custodian’s fees, state law requirements, treatment of excess contributions, distribution procedures, use of debit, credit, or stored value cards, return of mistaken distributions, and descriptions of prohibited transactions.
If you offer HSAs, you may want to visit http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f5305c.pdf for more information on these new forms.
