What to Expect from Travis in 2007!
During 2005 and 2006 we've been trying a different approach to developing and releasing new versions of the TravisFlex and TBILL systems - more frequent releases with several new features in each one. This approach has worked well on those systems, and the feedback we've received from customers has been consistently positive. The releases have installed easily without disrupting operations, the new features have been better understood and utilized, and the smaller releases have allowed us to be more responsive to customer enhancement requests and in correcting errors in the systems. Also, a smaller number of new features in each release means fewer things to reprogram, reducing the chance of our introducing errors into the system at release time.
We are also now using a combination of internal and outsourced testing on our new releases, which has produced better results than we ever could have expected. The offshore testers brought a different approach to testing and their approach has definitely made our products better. They have demonstrated the advantages of the hybrid testing approach over the strictly internal testing used previously.
As a result of the success of the new approach to release size and testing, we are going to begin using what we have learned to change the basic processes of the ongoing update and enhancement portion of the Support and Update Plan for TravisCobra, TBILL and TravisFlex. Here's a brief description of the changes you can expect:
- We're going to send you more frequent releases for each system, generally on a quarterly basis. When we have a new release for you, you will receive a notice that the new release for your Travis system is ready to download and install. The "Notes" that will come with that new release will tell you what's in the release, including descriptions of the new features and any error corrections.
- Upgrade and install instructions will come with the new release, as will an updated electronic version of the system's User's Manual.
- If you are using a paired Internet Access Module with your main Travis system, the instructions will also let you know if the Internet system needs to be updated, and if the updates of the main and Internet systems need to be time-coordinated. If an update of the Internet Access Module is required, a new release of that system will also be included as part of the update package, and a description of the changes to that system will also be included.
We believe that this new more frequent, smaller-release approach will result in your Travis system having just as many new features added to it over time compared to the "big release" approach we've taken in the past. We also will make sure that these smaller releases are easy to implement and helpful to your operation. And with fewer new features to learn in each release, we think system users will actually get more out of the new releases.

| Travis Support |
As part of an overall effort to improve every aspect of our Customer Support services in 2007, Travis Software implemented a new automated telephone system in December of 2006. There are many new features that are designed for the Support Department to better serve our clients. Now whenever you call there are options to enter your serial number and/or enter existing case numbers so that you are appropriately and efficiently routed to the correct member of our Travis Support Department. Please make sure your 4 or 5 digit Travis Serial Number is handy whenever calling. If you do not know your serial number, please email a request to spt@travisoft.com
If you are calling about an existing case, please have the 4 digit case number ready. This 4 digit case number will be given to you when you either submit a case online or when you speak to a Travis Support Representative over the phone. Once you tell us your case number, we can route you to the representative assigned to your case, or if they are unavailable, to the next representative. You may also leave a voicemail that will be added to your case.
As always, you are able to contact Travis Support by the following means:
